Crafty Venture: Project Life Week 30, 31 & 32

Baby A has been rather demanding the last few weeks thus the lack of time to scrap my PL. So I am really glad to find some pockets of time here and there to finish 3 weeks PL spread. So here there are.

Week 30 Highlights
The girls were coughing badly so I brought Astria to see Doc to get her cough medicine.
Made my first hand sewn book using Coptic Stitch. Loved it!!! Going to learn how to sew others.
Inspired by Amy Tangerine and DIY some fabrics Yo-yo. Super fun and easy.
The girls took part in a SAFRA Sprint Run for kids and each got a medal. Haha... Thats was really fun!

Week 31 Highlights
Astria used up the whole tub of QV cream and gotten a good scolding from the hubs. Ha..
I made it to MT Expo at Ion. Realised I have not been there for very long, so feel like a mountain turtle.
A breakfast date with the hubs at one of the yummy food store "The Art of Meepok".

Week 32 Highlights
Brought the girls to SAM for the Children's Season "Arts Garden"
Celebrated Singapore's 48th National Day and had a super awesome gathering at Mum's Pl over good food and manjong (esp for the hubs).
Bought a pink Crocs Mary Jane over National Day as they were having a ND Sales.
In the midst of organising my so called "scrap room" and its in progress still (It will be a while)
Completed a Scripts Arts and Beanie. Another 2 DIY projects that I have been wanting to try.

Well, it had been a wonderful and awesome 3 weeks full of activities, good food and company and even a little time for my creative venture.

Weekend Wanderings: SAM Arts Garden

Over the National Day holiday, the hubs and I bought the kids to SAM Arts Garden. This is an Arts exhibition catering for the little ones and this is our 3rd visits.

We love to go to SAM, especially during the Children's seasons. The exhibitions are colourful and there are always plentiful hands on activities for the girls to dabble in. This year, we are pleasantly surprised to know that SAM offers free entry for all Singaporeans and PR for the month of August, and all you have to do is to flash your ID.

The girls had fun at the various exhibition centres, such as The Enchanted Garden City and Around the Day in Eighty Worlds and the crafty activities were really a hit with them especially Atria.

The exhibitions were very colourful and reminded me of all the fairytale we heard while we were young. This is so apt now as the girls are just learning about the fairytale such as Little Red Riding Hood. It was really heartening to see them running around and exclaiming in delight when they spot a certain scene from the storybooks they have read.

However, we were not able to stay longer as I developed a bad migraine half way through the tour. I left the girls with the hubs to continue on their tour while I brought baby A down to the lobby to rest. The migraine did not go away and we had to leave pretty early which is quite a waste.

All in all, it was still a good trip and we might be making a trip there again.

Motherhood Ups and Downs: Baby Reflux

Having 3 kids does not guarantee you know everything about caring for a baby. Baby A presents totally new sets of "problems" different from his sisters.

Baby A regurgitates after almost every meal starting from week 2. His regurgitations gets worst as days and weeks passed. Several times, he threw up huge amount of milk curd which frightens the hell out of me. I was thrown into a panic mode. I surfed the net for information about baby reflux and regurgitations trying to look for a cure for baby A.

After consecutive incidents of projectile vomit, I brought baby A to see the PD. The PD assured me that it is very common for baby to regurgitate, even with large amount of milk, as long as baby is gaining weight. The situation will improve when baby A gets older.

With the frequent regurgitation, baby A also develops rather bad milk rash, which is a totally new set of problems. :(

Anyway, after reading so much on baby reflux, I have devided to cut down on diary products (mainly cheese and milk) to lessen the occurrences of regurgitations. It seems to help baby A so this mummy going to go without milk at least for another 2 months.

Keeping fingers crossed that the situation will improve.

Crafty Venture: His and Hers

And since I managed to knit the blanket for baby A, I thought I could do something easy for myself and the hubs. So after surfing several blogs and youtube for inspiration and tutorials, I finally came up with 2 patterns for knitting a simple cowl for the hubs and I.

Super easy knitting instruction for both, although I took more than a couple of months to complete the projects. I am glad to have completed them and not give up half way (which I almost always did in the past).

I am just waiting for the right occasion to put these on. Hopefully soon.

Crafty Venture: Project Life Week 28 & 29

Finally caught up with PL till week 29. No Sweat!

I'm having a dilemma maintaining my Project Life as well as traditional scrapbooking. I love documenting the daily stories using Becky Higgins PL, especially now with 3 kids. But I miss the creative outlets I have while scrapping a traditional layout. I tend to keep everything simpler doing PL so that I will have more time to play with other scrappy stuff with my layouts. Am I making sense?

Anyway, here is the week 28.

There is not so much happenings this week so I decided to just scrap one page for this week.
Highlight of the week: My scrapping supplies from Mapletree House finally arrived. I am so happy with the Gelatos from Faber Castell and I started to play with it immediately.

And this is Week 29.

As opposed to Week 28, I dedicated one whole page for Alkes god parenting ceremony at T2 Changi Airport, making up to 3 pages for week 29.

This week, I used my favourite PL core kit - Midnight Edition.  Love love love Midnight Edition. Have been hesitant about getting this kit (I have both Clementine and Seafoam core kit too), but I am soooo glad I bought in the end. It is absolutely awesome!

Besides Becky Higgins PL core kits, I also used Studio Calico Project Life Kit and Add On as well as Kelly Purkey Project Kit. Love both SC and KP kits. They added so much more fun embellishments to the whole PL spread.

Thanks for looking!
